Mrs. Rachel Snyder
I grew up in Downingtown, and graduated from Downingtown HS in 2002. I attended Franklin & Marshall College in Lancaster, PA, and graduated in 2006 with a degree in Sociology and Psychology. I moved to Boston, and worked for The New England Center for Children (NECC) from 2006-2009 - 2 years I worked with teenage boys with severe autism in a residential and school setting, and 1 year I worked in an inclusion classroom run by NECC in an elementary school in Dunstable, Massachusetts. While working at NECC I earned my masters degree in Education, with a specialization in severe special needs from Simmons College. In 2009 I moved back to Pennsylvania and worked with Preparing Adolescences for Adult Life, in Downingtown, where I worked as the head teacher for a school that specialized in life skills and vocational training for teenagers with autism. In 2010 I was hired by Owen J Roberts to work as the Primary Autistic Support teacher at West Vincent Elementary, working with students in grades K-2. In 2016 I transitioned to working with students in the older grades (4th thru 6th), and this year I continue to work with students in 5th and 6th grade.
