Reading: Next week we will continue our nonfiction reading and look at how the author's craft makes the book interesting, so that we are able to use that when sharing a book with someone else, and in our own writing. We also will look at how the author uses key words in their writing and how they're used to make us experts as a reader of the book.
Phonics: We will look at snap words that are super powerful! These snap words can help us read and write other longer, trickier words. We'll also learn to smash words together to make contractions with Not.
Writing: We've been working really hard on our Nonfiction chapter books. We will continue next week with learning how to create a good introduction and conclusion to our books. Then we'll fix up our writing by pretending to be a reader.
Math: We will continue Unit 5 discussing Place Value, beginning number scrolls, and comparing numbers using symbols. We will also do some measuring and more explorations with base 10 blocks.
Social Studies: We will learn about Martin Louther King, which goes along with our Historical Figures unit.
