Title 1 Family Resources
What is Title 1?
Title I, Part A (Title I) of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act, as amended by the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESEA) provides financial assistance to local educational agencies (LEAs) and schools with high numbers or high percentages of children from low-income families to help ensure that all children meet challenging state academic standards.
The Owen J. Roberts School District uses Title 1 funding to provide academic support to qualifying students in reading grades 1-6 and in mathematics grade 2-5. Benchmark assessments are used to identify students for additional support from a specialist throughout the school year to support students meeting academic standards in reading and mathematics.
