• Welcome to Remote Learning


    Click your student’s grade level to access information.



    The District is required to account for daily attendance.  Credit for attendance will be taken by student participation in the daily activities that occur throughout the day.  It is important to note that “participation” at every grade level is going to be different. Teachers will submit their daily attendance by 3:00 p.m. If for some reason it is past 3:00 p.m., simply email the teacher and they will mark your child present. 


    If your child is sick or there is a family emergency, please treat it like any other sick day and call the attendance line at 610-469-5688, to report the illness.  Please email Mrs. Ficca as well at cficca@ojrsd.net



    Students will participate in an asynchronous approach to learning. All lessons will be shared in flexible formats via Google Classroom or Seesaw. The teacher lessons may take approximately 10-20 minutes to view, but students should work beyond the teaching time on independent or guided practice. Teachers will provide feedback to students, and they will be available to meet with students for up to one hour each day during “office hours.” 

    K-1 focus of instruction: reading, phonics, and math

    2-6 focus of instruction: reading, writing, and math 


    As mentioned, this will vary by grade level, by subject, and even by lesson. Teachers will share their expectations daily to maintain each student’s continuity of education.

    As a reminder to students, the lessons that teachers are preparing and delivering right now are intended for instructional use. Students do not have permission to record and repost lessons nor manipulate the content. Be respectful in online communication with teachers and peers.



    WIFI SUPPORT/Wi-Fi Options for Home

    If you do not have wifi, here are a few suggestions:

    1. If you are a Verizon Wireless customer, you received 15GB of mobile hotspot data to your plan at no charge from 3/25-4/30.
    2. Comcast has provided free Internet where there is a density of Comcast users (OJRSD). Look for "xfinitywifi" in your network choices.
    3. Comcast will send all new customers a free self-install kit that includes a cable modem with a Wi-Fi router. There will be no term contract or credit check and no shipping fee. To sign up, applicants can simply visit www.internetessentials.com. The accessible website also includes the option to video chat with customer service agents in American Sign Language. There are also two dedicated phone numbers 1-855-846-8376 for English and 1-855-765-6995 for Spanish.


    Xfinity opened up hotspots.  Xfinity Wi-Fi hotspots in out-of-home locations will be available for free to anyone who needs them, including non-Xfinity Internet customers, to keep our communities connected with their friends and family.  Here is the link to the map  http://wifi.xfinity.com/#find-a-hotspot 

    Service Electric

    With students at home now in an eLearning environment, Service Electric Cablevision (SECV) will offer 90 days free Internet service to students and teachers who do not already subscribe to SECV Internet.  This offer includes the 40M x 4M tier of Internet service, along with a free cable modem rental. It applies only to new customers that have not subscribed to SECV Internet service within the last sixty (60) days. Self-installation required with the assistance of a technician outside the residence to ensure the safety of our employees. All new customers must provide written proof of their child’s current enrollment at a local school in SECV’s service area.  All teachers must reside in SECV’s service area and provide evidence of current employment status.     Owen J Roberts Campuses

    All of our campuses, including Warwick, are Wi-Fi available if you are near buildings and stay in the car. You can just connect to OJR Public.

    Mobile Carriers – Verizon /AT&T /T-Mobile

    Suggestions are Verizon is offering mobile hotspots on certain plans for free up to15 GB.  We heard for some T-Mobile customers that they are doing something but can't find it online. 

    Neighbors helping Neighbors

    I know some neighbors are sharing the Wi-Fi passwords with each other for students to use during this at home time.
