Welcome to Grade 5!  My name is Katherine Clark and I am your new fifth grade teacher.  In my earliest memories, I wanted to be a teacher; therefore, I am thrilled to be realizing my dream in the Owen J. Roberts School District.  I cannot wait to meet all of you and begin our year together.

My expectations for my students are simple.  We will work hard and have fun doing so.  This year you will also have Mrs. Beaver for Math, Social Studies, and Science.  Where you will be studying many topics including the principles and ideals of American Government and the causes and events leading up to the Revolutionary War. In my class you will be using vocabulary, word study patterns, and close reading strategies to read text critically and explain thinking will be a focus in English Language Arts.  In addition to enhancing each student’s interest in learning, I will strive to have each member of my class contribute to the positive learning environment in our active classroom as well as in the school.
