Greetings West Vincent Community! My name is Dr. Jeff Detweiler and I am the proud new principal of West Vincent Elementary School. I am absolutely thrilled to be here! One of my main priorities for my first year at the school is to really get to know the students, staff, and families. My philosophy is that through the positive relationships we build, great work will get done to help our students grow academically, socially, and emotionally!
Prior to joining the team at West Vincent, I was an elementary principal in the Avon Grove School District for 7.5 years and also an assistant principal for 2.5 years. One of the main reasons I am excited to be here is that, prior to my tenure in Avon Grove, I was a teacher in the Owen J. Roberts School District at East Vincent Elementary. Returning to OJR feels like returning home for me!
As the principal of West Vincent, my goal is to ensure that all members of our school community feel connected, accepted, and valued. Each and every member of this amazing community is vital to our success and I believe my role centers around creating the optimal conditions for all members of our school to do their best work. We are going to have an amazing year at West Vincent and thank you for welcoming me aboard!
