OJR High School Students Win International iWish Competition

Eliana Crew, Maya Evans and Riley Haring from Owen J. Roberts High School competed in the international iWISH competition, against teams from across the world, and earned the top award of €1000!

With guidance from Gifted Support Teacher, Ms. Mary-Rita Bonner, these three students collaborated with the CCEDC, East Vincent Elementary, OJR Middle School and TCHS-Pickering to create a one minute video to highlight the importance of early STEM education for girls and young women. The winning video can be viewed at https://youtu.be/qxqzGOIccnc

Their advisor, Mary-Rita Bonner, said, “We are very honored to work with the CCEDC, GETT, local schools and the iWISH organization to help spread the message of early and consistent STEM education for girls and young women. These ongoing opportunities for my students to connect with STEM leaders, both locally and around the world, provide role models and encourage them as they pursue their own interests in STEM fields.”
