Superintendent Stout Thanks Community for a Great First Week of School

Dear OJR Families and Staff,

Thank you for an amazing start to the 2022-2023 school year. It’s been my absolute pleasure to welcome everyone back to class!

One of the best aspects of my job as superintendent of Owen J. Roberts School District is the opportunity to meet with students, parents and staff in our community. This week I’ve had the privilege of visiting all 7 of our community’s schools and connecting with many of the talented and dedicated educators who serve our children every single day.

My visits to our schools are always inspiring. From the moment I step on campus, I see examples of the warmth and dedication OJR teachers, staff and administrators have toward our children. Thank you to the entire OJR team for all your hard work to create great learning environments for our students!

As I begin my 28th year in education, I consider my time with students to be among the most treasured from my career. This week, I met students at the elementary, middle and high school levels and was once again amazed by their boundless energy, their thirst for knowledge and the excitement they share as they discover new learning connections. Thank you students for welcoming me and I can’t wait to see where your academic journeys take you this school year!

Finally, I’d like to thank our OJR families for their trust in our school district and their ongoing support. These last few years have presented us with new challenges and opportunities in our classrooms, but you have continually been there to ensure our children have what they need to navigate these unique times. I appreciate your patience and understanding during these first days of school as we build momentum and get back into our daily routines. Your partnership is crucial to the ongoing advancement of our students and serves as the backbone of our shared success!

Thank you, everyone, for a great first week of school. I firmly believe the best is yet to come for our students and I cannot wait to share that journey with all of you. Have a happy and safe Labor Day weekend!

Sincerely,

Dr. Will Stout
