Owen J. Roberts School District welcomes community volunteers to help support our students and classrooms. We firmly believe that volunteers are a critical partner in helping us create a quality educational experience for our students and that volunteers directly contribute to school climate and student engagement.

If you’re a resident looking to support our community’s students, we invite you to volunteer at our schools and join us for exciting activities and important learning opportunities. We thank you for your interest and hope you find the following resources helpful:

First, a quick review of OJR School Board Policy 916, which defines a volunteer as an adult individual serving in an unpaid position with a school or a program, activity, or service as a person responsible for the welfare of one or more children or having direct volunteer contact with children. The Volunteer Policy applies to parents and all other members of the community who volunteer in our schools, or serve as overnight chaperones.

    • Additional Information
      • Part of the application indicates that if the applicant is arrested or convicted of any of the enumerated offenses while serving as an interim non-faculty sponsor, they shall provide the building principal with written notice no later than 72 hours after an arrest or conviction.

Additionally, all school volunteers and school visitors are subject to Raptor (or such other building level security program as may exist) screening.  All clearances must be dated within one year of the application.  No individual will be approved to serve as a volunteer if any of the required clearances evidence an offense which would preclude such an individual from being employed in the Pennsylvania public schools.

Finally, once your clearances are completed you’ll have the opportunity to complete and submit your volunteer application here

We thank you for your interest in serving as a volunteer with Owen J. Roberts School District. If you have any questions regarding the volunteer application process, please contact your child's school. We look forward to having you join us!
