Pacer Assessment
Name: ______________________ Grade: __________ Teacher: _______________
Objective of the test:
Student will run the Pacer Test to the best of their ability. To complete the test, students will run back and forth across the gym to a timed test that gets faster as the test moves forward. This test will be a “challenge by choice” assessment which will allow students to stop when they feel they can’t go on or the student will be asked to drop out if they do not make the lap within the time limit of the test. The Pacer Test will be held frequently during the school year and assessed at least once per trimester.
Directions:
Students will listen to the CD explanation of the test and be allowed to ask the teacher follow up questions. The test will start to the timed “beep” where the students will walk/jog across the assigned distance. Every 10 beeps/1 minute the time to get across the distance will shorten. Students must get across the gym in the assigned time to continue on.
