Degrees and Certifications:

B.S., Exercise and Sports Science, Penn State University, 1992 M. Ed., Indiana Wesleyan University, 2013

Mr. Scott Dede

My name is Scott Dede and I have been a teacher in the Owen J. Roberts School District since 1994-95.  I spent the first 10 years of my career working at the high school, then I was transferred to the middle school. I am the Health and Physical Education Department Chairperson and a member of the bullying prevention team.

I have a BS in Exercise and Sports Science from Penn State University, Class of 1992, and I received my Master's in Education from Indiana Wesleyan University in 2013. I have recently finished a Sports Administration Master's Program at Arkansas State University.

Throughout my career, I have coached many sports, including lacrosse, football, basketball, and wrestling. I will be coaching 7th-grade football this fall at the middle school. I am also a youth lacrosse official for the Chester County Lacrosse Association, a certified PIAA official for lacrosse and basketball, and the PIAA Statewide Rules Interpreter for boys lacrosse.

I have been married to my wife Katie (a teacher at the middle school) for 12 years.  I have 3 children and 2 step-sons, so our lives are usually busy with the kid's activities.  My children are Ryan, a 2015 OJR and 2019 Virginia Tech graduate who works at The University of Georgia; Andrew, a senior lacrosse player at Lycoming College; and Alison, a junior Dance and Kinesiology Major at Shenandoah University.  My step-sons are Bryan, a junior at Penn State, and Michael, a freshman at Penn State.
