Owen J. Roberts High School

    International Baccalaureate Career Program

On July 24, 2017 Owen J. Roberts High School became an IB World School, Career-related Programme (IBCP).  In part, the letter informing us of our status as an IB World School states:  "As an IB World School, you are part of a global community of schools committed to developing knowledgeable, caring young people who will be ready to negotiate their futures successfully and make contributions resulting in a more harmonious and peaceful world. We commend your school's educators, administrators, students and families for their active roles in choosing to offer the IBCC."  You can find us listed on the IB website: IB World School.

The Authorization of the High School as an IB World School is the culmination of a two-year effort on the part of the high school administrators, teachers, students and community as well as the Owen J. Roberts Board of School Directors.  The 2-year IBCP (formerly IBCC) at Owen J. Roberts works with our STEAM (Science Tecnology Engineering Art Math) courses and ROTC to make up the IBCP Certificate Program.

A full description of the program can be found on pages 28-34 of the 2018-2019 Program of Studies.

The first group of students are taking IBCP classes now as Juniors.  If you are curently a rising junior and are interested in applying for the IBCP at OJRHS, please contact Mr. William Richardson, the IBCP Coordinator at wrichardson@ojrsd.com

International Baccalaureate Career Program (IBCP) Planning and Scheduling Meeting---Monday January 22 during Advisory in the LGI.

The IBCP is a program that is taken in a student’s junior and senior years and, as such, is being scheduled now for interested sophomores (rising juniors). Over the past few weeks each of the sophomores has had a chance to hear a presentation on the IBCP.  This presentation can be found on the High School website at: https://www.ojrsd.com/cms/lib/PA01916155/Centricity/Domain/1210/Sophomore%20Class%20Meeting%20Dec%202017.pdf

A scheduling and planning meeting will be held in the High School LGI on Monday, January 22 during the Advisory period. If your student expressed interest in the IBCP or if they are now interested, they should attend this meeting.  Scheduling for next year will be discussed and IBCP applications will be distributed at that time.  If you have any questions, please contact William Richardson at wrichardson@ojrsd.com
